Identification Title Dissolved oxygen concentration Abstract Dissolved oxygen in the bottom of the water column (Criterion D5C5) is used as an indicator of water quality and eutrophication status of coastal water. In the eutrophicated water body, due to an increase in algae density, the process of strong photosynthesis and respiration causes a very large change of dissolved oxygen concentration. The monitored stations are extended along the whole Italian cost. All the measurements were made with a CTD casts equipped with a oxygen sensor; the dissolved oxygen concentration is expressed in mg/L. The data source is the implementation of the MSFD monitoring program.
